I just parted out a 230TE- and sold the chassis to the junkyard. It may be in the inventory for pulling soon. If so and I find it I'll tell you exactly where it is.

Mark, a 3.46 from a non turbo 300D or TD would prolly be easier to find and the difference would hardly be noticeable. Speedometers would also be easier to find.

Thanks! Yea since i posted this I've found the list showing 3.46 in & 3.07 in some of the 300d's. I think the 150 speedo would be nice but not a imediate goal. Even with the 3.69 factory gear I pegged the 85mph speedo(going down hill with the AC off of course!!!) I'm not really looking for more top speed. The goal is to do normal highway speed 75mph (not 95mph like Jacksonville. lol) without the motor redlining. I'm hoping that this does not make it undrivable in 1st from a stoplight. I'd like to do this swap once but prepaired to re-swap to find the "sweet spot" gearing. I talked to Charlie on the Left coast who has a 3.58 in his 240d and said it was aprox 3% difference. So i'm leaning towards 3.46's or 3.07's now. My concern is will the 240d have enough power to pull the 3.07's at highway speed comfortably? Maybe I should find a 240d motor and build it to accept a turbo. is there such a thing? Thanks for your help!! Can't wait to see the 300d again! Pierre said you repaired a low psi port in the injection pump! GREAT job!!
