I'm considering having my '83 repainted, the body shop I was talking to today would rather replace the RR door than to try to remove the dent in my present door. I would consider a complete or partial rust-free door. The preferred color is Astral Silver metallic. I'm in south central PA and wouldn't mind traveling 100-150 miles for a good example.

I have a rust free and dent free door, but wrong color if you are interested. OR

BUT -- I know a guy who has a perfect door, actually all are perfect and it is the Silver color you are looking for. The car is a 1983 240D that had a $5,800 paint job but then had a front end collision. Now the fenders and hood are toast. I looked at the car a few days ago and it is stunning --but for the front end. If you look on Columbia, SC Craigslist, you will see his 10/4 ad to sell another 240D. He's outside of Columbia, SC. His name is Larry, his phone number is 803 629 or something along those lines.

The picture will show a creme colored 1979 240D on a trailer. HOWEVER, he as a bunch of 240Ds / W123. He has one which is Silver, just painted, et cet. His name is Larry. He is adamant about NOT parting out the Silver 240D. HOWEVER, if you buy all 4 doors and offer a NON pull-a-part price like a bunch of folks do, you may end up with super great body panels and doors. The paint job is immaculate and he has the receipt. Too bad it got crunched in the front. And no, I am not his salesman. I was looking at totally different parts.
If that does not work out, I have a blue door, ZERO rust ZERO dents, but you will have to strip it, et cet. which is a total pain and drives your paint job costs thru the roof to do a great job. That is why I was thinking if you're looking for silver, Larry has the car with the panels and doors.

I picked up a door and some other parts from Hogweed today, and would recommend his as a parts source to others in the area. Too bad you're not closer, the silver door would have made things a little simpler.
