300SD Automatic Trans.
Automatic 4spd Fits 300sd (116 chassis). Taken out of rear-ended car with 135k. Checked out by rebuild shop. Replaced one slightly worn bushing and all friction discs - even though they didn't need it. Been sitting in my basement for years. I don't think it will fit my 87 if it ever needs a trans. Torque converter included. Best offer.

The transmission is shippable through staples (a UPS drop-off point) for something like 60$ across the eastern seaboard. Perhaps a bit more on the other side of the mississippi.

Would that fit a 1979 300td? If so, how much are you asking?

There is a cut-off date in like 81 I think for the 300sd. The tailshaft was changed along with the speedometer connection. I don't know how production impacted the TD line.
I would suggest exchanging digital pictures of what one has vs wants to make sure. Somebody that knows what they are doing can convert one kind to the other. (I don't know what the conversion entails, I just know it can be done). -CTH |

I need $475 plus shipping to cover the rebuild shop's charge for tear down and reassembly. Transmission has been in storage since 1995. Came out of 1980 300SD that I bought for $2800 that had minor rear end damage. I never got around to fixing body so I removed and sold the motor and kept trans. should I need it. I believe I may still have radiator as well. I don't know how elaborate a shipping container I need to transport the unit safely - it is quite heavy. I would suggest that anyone interested in having it shipped should send me an empty container (crate) with a UPS, FEDEX, or STAPLES call TAG and suitable packing material. I will work with whoever buys it to make sure everything(including torque converter) gets to its destination safely. Car was very driveable when I bought it. The transmission shifted smoothly and at the proper speeds before it was removed. There were no leaks or problems. I had it gone through to check for and eliminate any potential problems before possibly installing it in my car. There are no issues or stories with this transmission. You will not be installing a headache!
