Want to buy ceramics for 85 300 SD

Anybody happen to have a good set of ceramic pads lying about for the 126 SD? I want some but choke at the price of new ones.

IIRC the SD pads are the same as W123 pads. I've installed the W123 Akebonos in Nov 2008 and up until today, 3 years later the pads still look new and I've been driving my 300D almost daily since then (stopped driving it daily in June this year). 40-mile commute each day at minimum, sometimes with the occasional weekend road trip, etc.

Pretty much pays for itself in the long haul.

I like the low dust aspect. I see that fastlane has some ceramics that are quite reasonable. I may just go ahead and buy new ones.

Pat, does the car stop as well, or better with the ceramic pads?

In my experience with Hawk ceramics very excellent stopping power is generated with less pedal pressure. In fact I found if you mix them as I did putting on the fronts and not rears that the fronts locked up too easily and I would slide them in wet weather too easily.

Conclusion is never change to ceramics unless you do four wheels.

Also I have yet to ever replace a ceramic. They seem to last forever.
