WTB Euro Gen II W126 headlamp wiper valences and motors
Hey guys,
Recently picked up a set of Gen II wiper arms, and now am looking to snag the rest of the stuff for the conversion. Bro behind the counter at the parts desk won't let me order the euro valences not having a euro VIN Mostly a feeler, as going into the holiday season I'm about to be broke, but if a set comes up at a reasonable price I'm still open! Thanks, Carlen

I have a set of valences.. I just need to remove them off of my car since I have already removed the wiper system.

They're really great about everything else except euro parts. Constant discounts because I spend almost all my spare cash there, but once I mention a euro part, they get all serious. It's weird. Especially a part like a valence; I'm not trying to order a M117.968 HV here, just a headlamp valence

You can mod the parts from the euro wipers into the US motors to get the right sweep pattern. That's what I did.

Yeah I read your earlier post on it; how do I get the gears though? I can easily figure out the swap, but does Bosch sell the parts?

Ah I misread your post, I thought you had the motors The gears in the Gen1 motors are the same, and I'd guess that the gears in the late W124 wipers are very close.

Probably a stupid question. But can the motors just be swapped sides? I know the direction of operation is opposite, and if the arc is the same, could that not be done is some way?

You can swap sides (I did this when I put on my euro lights initially). There are some problems though:
-The trigger for the washer pump is in one of the motors, IIRC it's the driver's side. Swapping them disconnects the trigger -The sweep of the US motors is so small it's basically pointless. It wipes about half of the fog lamp and nothing else. -J

I figured there was an issue.
Can the guy who makes speedo gears (another thread somewhere here) possible make the right gears to convert US motors?

Possibly? It's a fairly large gear with a hole in the face, an arm pivots in the hole which is what turns the shaft the wiper arm is attached to.
I've got an extra set of US motors I could take apart for a show & tell. -J |
