WTB 4 speed swap set up for 1979 300cd
Hi all,
Firstly, I just wanted to say this is my first post on the site; however, I've been a fairly avid reader of threads in the tech section. This has been a great help. Thanks! Now down to business: I recently picked up a good running 1979 300cd n/a 617. My wife and I love the car, but the trouble is the auto trans leaves a lot to be desired. It shifts and drives well (probably a rebuilt unit); however, we live in the north LA foothills (La Crescenta), and auto boxes can get rather slow/frustrating in this area. I was hoping to start buying parts for an eventual conversion to 4 speed manual (hopefully from a 240d). If there is anyone on the forum that's looking to sell some or all the necessary parts I would be very appreciative. One final note, I used the search feature, and didn't come across anything in the classifieds. However, if there is something posted and I missed it, then I apologize before hand. Best regards, R Chase |

I have the proper flywheel, a four speed from an 83 240D that I freshed with new seals and gaakets, a new master and slave, a used clutch disc and pressure plate, a shifter that I rebuilt with the proper bushings, and the pedal assy. I'm open to offers.

I have a four speed from a euro 300D that is for sale- I'm in FL however. Included is the pedals, linkage, driveshaft etc, with the balance that the 240D four speeds do not have and the rest of the items pulled from the car. The only thing missing is the flywheel. Open to offers and not looking to make a house payment with the proceeds...
