617 turbo head N.O.S -$400
I bought this new from metric motors for $1100 in 2010, installed it, and ran it about 8000 miles before the transmission blew.
This was a N.O.S. Mercedes head, and I still have the box it came in from Germany. Newly installed on the old engine: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-e...0/100_3394.JPG Current state https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-b...0/DSCN0960.JPG https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-H...0/100_3650.JPG Some carbon deposits on the surface https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w...0/100_3651.JPG |
Is this head correct for a wagon, or only for a sedan...? (I'm out of my element here but thought there was something different about wagon heads related to hydraulic pump....)

I don't see anything that would be different in the head for a wagon, but I'd wait for one of the wagon experts to weigh in.

Sounds like a hell of a deal. I would buy it if it were for a wagon...

I need to make sure my teenager is home when this thing arrives ... he needs to carry it inside ...LOL.

Out of curiosity, when is a new head needed? I've got a 617 turbo with nasty piston slap but otherwise good performance...wonder if it could be saved...
