If you are interested in getting your engine looking good again? I have two valve covers, that I cleaned and polished by hand, that will brighten up your motor. The one with oil cap has some scuff marks that I took a close up of, but I think that when the linkage,vacuum lines and breather hose are hooked it won't matter much. Both come with metal oil caps. What did you use to get them this shiny? I have a spare cover for my 240D that I was planning on polishing.

Degreaser for starters, rinsed off with water, then I rubbed them shop hand cleaner several times, rinse off and dried and then used Never Dull, Brasso and Blue Magic Metal Polish. But the main component was lots of elbow grease, lots, so much that it left me sore.
