This is an air cleaner assembly removed from a 1979 Mercedes-Benz W116 300SD. This will fit the early 300SD (1978-mid 1980) without an EGR valve or oil drain tube that fastens to the underneath of the air cleaner. Other than needing new paint on the outside, the air cleaner housing is in good condition and has only light oxidization.

Included are several extra parts. There is a new wing nut for the lid from ************** and the threads on the stud are in good condition. The clips also work well. Inside is a Mahle air filter that I installed new last year and has only about 2,000 miles on it. Though there are some dark spots, it should be good for many more miles.

Included is the U-tube that goes from the air cleaner to the turbo. The rubber breather hose connected to the tube is a dealer part that I bought new last year. You also get the plastic air intake pipe. The air cleaner mounting bracket is included and has been repaired at one time. The heat shields for the rubber mounts come with it. I am also including a new set of 3 rubber mounts with 6 new locknuts.

I also have a new grommet from the dealer, which either replaces the plug in the air cleaner or fits in the U-tube (I can't remember which). You'll also get the foam padding and zip ties that I got from **************. The zip ties go through the foam and you wedge the foam between the air cleaner and the valve cover, which is supposed to help against vibration.
