WTB - Early w115 tail light lenses
Attached is the current lens style on my 1969 220. They are red on red, (I guess rare?) - like the ones in the photo but the driver's side of mine has a chunk of plastic missing.
I don't mind if I change out the lenses to the red/orange instead of the Red/Red - I just want a set of matching lenses that are intact. Does anyone out there have a set of these smooth, early style lenses for a reasonable price? This is for my 16 year old son Bailey's first car I have been putting together from pieces! Chris

I HAD a set of ribbed ones off an old 72 , but I will have to paw through the graveyard to see if I still have them. You will have some trouble finding the smooth red/red , but you never know. If I find them ( ribbed) I'll PM you

I did not realize you can use the ribbed ones in the same housing - that opens the options.
Thanks

Ribbed, for extra pleasure...
Yes the housings are the same for all years, 68-76.
But...... since the lens removes from the outside, when you install later ribbed lights on a 73 or earlier car, the bumper guards rest very close to the lens. The bumper must then be removed to service the bulbs..... BTDT. Jim

I just checked the housings and lenses for the ribbed and non-ribbed 114/115 taillights--both types of housings fit into the car body, but the lenses and housings for each type are completely different--and installing the ribbed housings and lenses in the pre-baby-buggy-bumper models will indeed cause fouling problems with the earlier bumpers

I've got two early housings and one lense if you're interested. It's not the same style lense you posted though. Let me know, I'm open to offers.
Here is what I have: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-used-parts-sale-wanted/313510-114-115-tail-lights-2-types.html
