87 SDL Jack?

Just got my new to me 87 SDL Turbo registered, insured, two new front tires, oil and filter changed and a fuel filter big one like an oil filter and the little plastic one so I'm ready to start driving this baby. But one of the needed things that did not come with the car was a jack. I see that there are small openings that are removed to get to the jack holes near the bottom of the doors to attach the jack to. I don't want to go too far without a jack with the spare, it has a tool bag with the tire iron.

I called a wrecking yard last week about a used jack and they said they would check and get back to me, but I was wondering will any jack from a Mercedes fit? I know there are smaller cars than this one are there different jacks for the different size cars or are they all the same and will work the same? Should I call the Mercedes Dealer and ask them?

In the event that you do not locate a jack, I have one for $25 plus shipping.

PM me if you wish to pursue this.

Well, thank you for that offer, I did find a suitable jack at the yard.

Actually I bought 2 jacks for $5 ea, they had a large bin full of Mercedes jacks and after picking through the pile I chose the two strongest looking ones. One is a taller very heavy older looking one with a red knob on its turning handle and the second one is a bit shorter with a square tube rather than a round tube like all the others had.

After looking through the 50+ jacks it is clear that they are probably pretty model specific based on how robust the construction of each is. Some where very lightweight and some like the two I chose where much heavier constructed.

Now I'm ready to deal with a flat tire if that happens, I also found two stamped steel wheel chocks in a bin of BMW jacks that I purchased for $1 ea so I can block the wheels if I ever need to.
