Able to haul/transport some stuff.

Looks like I'm making another one of my Mercedes hauling trips and meeting/seeing some forum members. I will be driving my 2000 Dodge Dakota, 4x4, crew cab with the 4cylinder Cummins swap pulling an 18 foot car hauler. Here's my tentative itinerary:

May 16 or 17th: Departing Memphis, TN and driving to Louisville, KY --- car hauler will have a light ivory w123, 300D on it; truck bed will contain an OM617 turbo engine.

Next day: Will be unloading the car and driving to Champaign, IL; Car Hauler is empty. I can haul stuff.

Same day or Next day: Arriving in Champaign, IL area; unloading the OM617 engine and driving home. I can haul stuff.

I'm selling the 1981 w123 300D NA with the ceased engine to a forum member, so take his rust bucket off the road. I wish the Red interior car had such a nice interior. Photobucket doesn't seem to want to cooperate with Chromium, so here's one pic.

Okay, Houston, we have scheduling issues. It looks like I will NOT have my car hauler behind the truck.

Here's a tentative new route:

Memphis, TN to Champaign, IL via I-55 & I-57
to Lafayette, IN if I find the correct differential this weekend for Tom
to Louisville, KY for a family visit
to Owensboro, KY to retrieve some w108 parts
to Memphis,TN

I will be running empty from Champaign, so seats, engines, transmissions, subframes, etc --- big stuff you don't want to ship are all game.

My 9 cylinder diesel truck is ready to roll.....except I need to buy at least 2 new tires before hitting the road. UGH. Rotten valve stem on the front driver's side; had to change it yesterday before I got home.

5 cylinder in the back and 4 up front in case you are wondering.
