WANTED 8 hole rims for my 91 350 SD

Hi all you Benz freaks and fans,

I'm updating but keeping my 91 350 SD relatively stock. I prefer the 8 hole chrome rims but painted or alloys are good and newish tires. The rim size is 15" offset is anywhere from 21.5mm to 23mm depending on how wide the rim is. 6 1/2" or 7" respectively.

The Maximum hub depth or extension is about 3 1/8" which leaves enough room for the center caps to stay on.

Also the lug nuts and center caps would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

DD:

Will a set of four, refinished in silver powdercoat, with chrome bolts, and either chrome or silver caps be suitable?

15x7 ET25 (OEM ET), aftermarket made by Smiths
These wheels were installed on my 126C, hence fit is confirmed.

Tires available but not mounted:
4 Cooper Lifeliner, 205/65/15, min. tread at point of greatest wear - 75%

Wheels - $650/4
Tires - $75/4

PM or email; if email I can send pics

WANTED 8 hole rims for my 91 350 SD

Hi Frank,

Glad you have the rims that I want. Unfortunately I can get new after market ASA powder coated silver ones from tirerack for $436 with the bolts and valve stems. That's where I got the pix from.

How about $250 for the rims and bolts and you keep the center caps and I'll get tne valve stems and mounting. That's in the ball park of what they are going for on Craig's list with the tires, caps & bolts. I already have some newish Altimax HD tires to put on.

Here's the funny thing. I was in Modesto last night for the first time in over 20 years. I met the guy that sold me the tires in Stockton and wanted to buy something from a chain store that is there too. They were out but the store in Modesto had it. So on the road I go. I went to Mini's bar for some pot stickers and bad tiki drinks. I can't believe I drove 2 hours there and 2 hours back for that.

Good times,

No can do; $250 does not even cover the cost of refinishing the wheels and bolts, let alone the wheels themselves.
Re: CL, these wheels are unused since refinish.

Hi Frank,

I can't pay you more than what I can order new ones for. Is there any wiggle room in your price or are you going to hold on to them until someone pays your asking price?

Thanks for your considering my offer,

As it stands, I'll use the 8-holes when I get bored with the 15s.

However, add tax & shipping to Tire Rack, and try me.

Frank,

Sorry it's not $436 for the new ones. That didn't include the extra shipping charges it's going to be $485.24 for the new rims from tire rack instead of your great reconditioned rims for $650.

The difference is more than $150 I'm going to wait till I find others or go with the new ones.

Sorry we couldn't come to an agreement,

More power to you if you can purchase without paying sales tax.

Buying on a resale certificate for your personal use?

WANTED 8 hole rims for my 91 350 SD

Frank,

I've been nothing but nice until now. Maybe its the beer talking but why do you wasn't me to pay for your mistake? If you had your rims refurbished do you really expect me to pay for that when I can get new ones for less?

I wasn't borne yesterday so cut your losses and get real with me. I am respectfully telling you to get a reality check and come down off your high price.

Even with tax & shipping new ones are more than $125 less than your $650 price.

$ 650 a set is pretty high for a used refurb generic wheel when new in the box can be gotten for less.

If you want to make the switch to 16" a very similar 8 hole wheel exists on early 90's SL and other cars. ( The S class has a similar wheel with a different offset )

Smiths wheels were made in South Africa and were made to fit almost any car the company went under a few years ago and was sold off at auction .

Sorry I have the tires for 15" already and I'd really like to keep it looking as stock as possible. The 8 hole 16"s that you mention while very stylish don't look stock enough please scroll up to see the wheel I want. I know they're out there I just have to be patient.
Thanks for the thought though.

The 16" I'm speaking of look the same and are made in a few widths offsets.

See attached picture.

While these are the same style of wheel I'm looking for I already have four 15" tires. So I will not be getting the 16" wheels as it would be a waste of money on my part.

I am in san Diego. Have 16 inch rims off a s class. The offset is et51. They are aluminum polish with clear coat. Great shape and will let them go for $250.
