This car has 148,000 and it works well. All records. I am thinking of selling it to the calif. vehicle buy back program for $1K.

A decent condition running 300SE is worth a lot more than 1k....don't junk it!

Those are good sentiments and facts but in my case I have 4 cars total and this one needs the fan pulley assembly to be replaced, which is not such a big deal, but its at the point that , for me, it makes no sense putting more money into it. Even though I just re-registered and Calif. smogged it last July.

This car has indeed been fairly trouble free since bought from the original owner in 1991. They are great cars !
The radio and power antennae and sunroof don't work and the hood has some scratches and I patched a small hole in the muffler. The engine does burn a bit of oil (after the oil gets thin from use) but I think that is probably normal at this age and mileage.

Just those minor detractions makes the market value at about $1K for a private party sale plus the hassle of selling and dealing with flakes.

I phoned a friend who may come look at it for a $1K purchase. He used to own a 1991 300SE.

Otherwise its up for offer to any forum member who may need a good power train and/or parts car that can be driven off.
