For sale OM601 TURBO exhaust manifold
G'day Folks,
I have an OM601 - yes four cylinder diesel engine - TURBO exhaust manifold for sale. These are pretty rare as they were only fitted to some Vitos - see this link (only in Dutch sorry) for more information Mercedes-Benz OM601 - Wikipedia I was hoping it would bolt up to an engine I have (I'll say no more!) but it doesn't. I'm willing to pass it on for what I paid plus a tiny amount of the hassle of packing it up and sending to someone money... ...so 40 euros gets it but you then need to pay for shipping from me to you. (I'm in Holland Europe so postage could possibly exceed twice the asking price if you're on the left hand side of the Atlantic - but I'll pop on down to Schiphol airport if someone's on their way through and wants it in hand luggage!) Please note => This isn't like a bolt on turbo kit - it is just the manifold. You'd have to solve other problems such as getting more fuel out of your IP, a different larger bore exhaust, a turbo, pipes and other stuff etc etc etc. Here are some threads that raise some of the issues http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/311553-turbo-om601-601-940-a.html OM601 performance/adding Turbo. looking for Info If you want more information let me know (I'm often a helpful chap) Part number is 601 142 17 01 The manifold looks to me to be in a good but used condition. I can see no cracks - no problems with it... ...but this is a buyer beware situation I can't replace it that easily if there is a problem with it - so I'm afraid in the event of a problem (which I think is highly unlikely) it'll be a tough titty mate situation! To put it in context - there's one on ebay here for 90 euros Abgaskrümmer Mercedes Vito 110 D 2.3 6011421701 | eBay

Oh yes and I guess there's a certain amount of "why would you bother to put a turbo on an OM601" - true true but as people put turbos on OM616es I guess there might be interest. If not I'll have a gucci Mercedes door stop
You also need to check for yourself if it will actually fit your OM601 - I don't know if it will do that!

If only it were non EGR...
What turbo has that mounting pattern? Did you confirm the gasket casts the same shadow as a NA 601 gasket? Sixto 87 300D |

Blank it weld it?
Dunno I've just got a KKK turbo (same generation as OM603) from a Peugeot 205 / 405 and it doesn't fit (but that was also bloody cheap so worth the punt!) Quote:
I have no EPC - but I guess if you bung the part number posted above into the program you'll get a list of vehicles to which it was fitted and then you get to gasket + head part numbers...

I did a bit of searching about for prices.
As far as I can make out the part I've got is no longer available but I think the replacement is 6011421801 => now don't quote me on this but there's a picture of it here => And the price at the dealer is 228 euros with out tax. So if this one I have goes to a good home then there's a start of a different solution for the disappointed...

The KKK turbo from an OM606.96 should bolt right up to that.
