Too bad about the glow plug work, did a machine shop attempt the job? I saw one in a local shop and the 606 head looks sorta like Swiss cheese with those multiple valve ports. Thats a scarce head too. You might find an engine for a Grand or a little more and take the head off it and sell the rest and reduce the cost, because one from a dealer is likely going to really set you back.
There was a complete car - '99 turbodiesel - FS in Las Vegas earlier in the year for around $2000 as I recall, 2 glow plugs broken off and in owners driveway. needed a tow. If it was closer I would have bought it but really don't need any more car projects these days. The 98 - 99 turbodiesels are worth fixing - great running cars, eh?
