I got an 87 300sl with a wooden SELM steering wheel in decent shape. The diameter is a bit small for me, it's in my line of sight of the gauges. Would like to trade for a nice original one or aftermarket that's bigger. Thanks.

For your R107, with an airbag, you can use stock wheels from W201, W124 and W126 cars.

Late W124 (around 93) have smaller diameter sport wheels, which require a different clockspring. The sport wheel has a different spoke pattern vs. the standard size wheel. Cars with the sport package may have the smaller wheel as well.

These wheels are available in either urethane or leather. Urethane has a problem with delamination from the core, allowing the outer cover to twist on the steel core. The leather ones are getting hard find in perfect condition. Lots of them on eBay, but look closely and ask questions to avoid the common problems.
