WTB -- Zebrano wood trim for 240D center console

Most of the bits of wood trim in my center console are severely chipped -- it was that way when I got the car -- and it's a bit of an eyesore, needless to say. Would anybody happen to have some good-condition not-warped Zebrano wood for me to use in my '83 240D?

You need to specify if your car has power windows or not, and whether it's a manual or auto transmission.

Ah, sorry. The windows have crank handles (no power) and it's an automatic.

Bumping up! I have found the piece for the first picture, but I am still in need of a piece for the second picture. My car is half-Eurofied anyway, so I WILL consider black vinyl replacement pieces (which is what I got for the first pic anyway). If anybody has a black ashtray to match, that would be nice as well

Have you considered refinishing your wood pieces?

I have never refinished anything in my life and it turned out pretty well.

Look in the wiki for lots of helpful tips.

I've thought about it. I may just end up doing that if I can't find a replacement piece, since my setup (with only three holes besides the one for the stick) seems to be unusual.

If you go the refinish route, you may be able to adapt a more standard piece with more holes.

Maybe buy or pull a damaged one (check for the rear pin) and recover it with a veneer. Only don't cut out the unused holes for your car from the new veneer. If you're going black plastic on the console, then almost any veneer would do and just use a black stain and maybe a matte finish on the wood so it's not uber-glossy compared to the console.

If you find one with additional slots (for windows, etc) you could use those and modify the switches to wire up a device.

For example, if you want to wire up the garage opener, you can use one switch for this. Another would be for USB connectivity. The possibilities are endless since you have manual windows, so the center console you can purchase in good used condition will most likely be a 4-window-switch type.

I now have a black center console with no window switch holes
OR a nice wood center console with all the switch holes (for endless possibilities)

I also have the top switch panel in fair condition now available...
