Is that the original transmission? I thought the 124.128 had a 722.418.

That should make for some interesting shift points.

You guys might be right....The engine that was in this 1992 300d was a replacement engine a OM602 Naturally Aspirated 2.5L Diesel...They must have replaced it with the transmission still attached... IDK.......

Based on the Technical Info I got ... 'Courtesy Of' AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PARTS and OVERHAUL KITS this transmission is interchangeable with many Mercedes chassis...

To identify the type of transmission you have: Locate the six (6) digit 722.XXX number stamped into the pan rail on the passenger side.
This is the most important part of the transmission identification number. In our example below, 722 400, the 722 signifies an automatic transmission.
The 4 signifies the model of transmission. The 00 signifies the type of automobile and is used to determine what modulator and the adjusted pressure is required.

I believe this transmission is interchangeable with all 722.4 (4 Speed/6 Bolt Pan/Small Case starter on drivers side/left side) transmissions...Please let me know if you guys know this transmission is not interchangeable or if that web site is way off or a modulator can't be changed or adjusted........ Thanks Andy...
