WTB: K26 Turbo

I am looking to replace the Garrett turbo on my 617.951 with the K26 turbo off of a 300d/sd/td. Anyone?

difference as in to distinguish the two, or difference performance wise?

visually, the K26 has the wastegate pointing towards the fender, while the garret has the wastegate pointing toward the front of the car.

performance wise, the K26 supposedly spools faster, thats about all i know though...

The OM617 is in my 89 Jeep Wrangler, 4" lift, 32" tires, 3.73 gears. Not too concerned about top speed, at about 70mph, it gets a little scary, 80 feels like your in a mac truck going 110 across a 1 lane bridge with heavy cross winds...

Really looking to pick up on the off the line acceleration without having to regear, I just dont have the time, space, or money to swap axles right now. Throwing on a K26 should only take my about an hour or two...
