DEAL DONE! WTB: Odometer Shaft or Whole Speedometer W123
5-4-2014 DEAL HAS BEEN DONE. I'VE GOT A SPEEDOMETER ON THE WAY!
I ruined my odometer while trying to repair it! I need a replacement odometer shaft for my 1977 300D. I need the shaft with the small brass gear on the end as seen in the pictures below. I am willing to buy either a functioning or non-functioning speedometer as long as that shaft is OK. BTW, not sure it matters in regards to the shaft as it does with a whole speedometer, my car has a 3.46 ratio differential. Thanks, oh and include shipping to 70818 in your price. I have a really nasty-looking speedo/odo from my 1984 300D that still works well. $33 shipped?

Good price, but I've already agreed to a deal from another forum member.

If your replacement speedometer doesn't work out, go to an industrial supply house and get a length of 3 mm drill rod. They are precison ground and polished for a reasonable price. The original shaft is slightly under 3 mm so the drill rod works well if the white metal gear has been slipping.
