Well after 7 years its time to part ways with my first Benz. The head gasket went out on the OM603 and during the teardown we found there are cracks between several of the intake/exhaust valves. The Benz has 330K on it and has been very reliable but I cant see spending a grand on a car that isn’t worth much more than the cost of a used head. Car is black over titanium with palomino interior.

I replaced the original rodbender with an '87 OM603 from a 300D with 160K on it. Engine now has about 230K. Short block is in great condition and with a new head has lots of miles left.....but of course they would all last a lot longer with a newer head.

I removed the mechanical fan two years ago and used the dual flex-a-lite setup mounted directly to the new radiator. I'll sell the whole unit together (radiator/fan/control unit).

Has a good turbo.
Good injection pump
Injection lines. #6 is rubbed but still works.
Working cruise module actuator and amplifier
trans shifts great
Good passenger front fender.
Good hood.
good door panels.
Aftermarket euro headlights (clear side markers) and aftermarket tail lights. All lights less than a year old.
Almost new A/C compressor
150A upgraded alternator
Almost new starter


Anything you want let me know. The whole car is up for grabs. Whatever is left by the end of August is going to the scrap yard. I’ll ship anything you want if your willing to pay for it. I’ll strap the engine or tranny to a pallet and ship. It will be listed on Craigslist in the DFW, TX area as well. I’ll get some pics up here soon.

Are you willing to sell the parts needed to update an OM603 that still has the trap oxidizer on it? If so, how much would you want for everything. Shipping would be to 37128 if you could figure that out as well.

North of Dallas, TX. Drivers front fender is warped (firemen pushed it out of the way a few years ago when we had a barn/shop fire) between the wheel well and the door. Car was not involved in fire. Small dent in front of drivers tail light. Clear coat is starting to fail due to the Texas sun. I will get pics up soon. The car is very sound and solid. We just have many other priorities right now that our money would be better spent on. If you are interested in the whole car shoot me an offer.
