For Sale: W111 Manual Trans Floor Shift Conversion "Kit", Original MB Parts, Fintail
Sold my 220Sb that I was going to convert to a floor shift manual 4 speed, and I have the pieces remaining (buyer was not interested in them for his purposes). You could convert from a column shift to floor shift, or even from an automatic to a floor shift.
I removed the parts from a 1965 220Sb with original floor shift. I had also purchased another transmission from someone who parted out a 220SEb with floor shift. I do not know what years this will fit into, but I have to presume Fintail 220's, perhaps later 60's cars too. 22 pics can be seen here: 111floortrans Photos by hazetguy2 | Photobucket and I can take more pics if there's anything else you'd like to see. Here is the "kit": The steering column has been refurbished. There is a new German bearing in it. The contact ring for the horn is in very good condition, cleaned and polished. The transmission was purchased used from an MB guy who swore up and down that it was good. As I have never driven it, I must take his word on it. The shift rods are good, but there are a few small nicks on it from where the guy hit it with the saw when removing the trans. The shifter is pretty decent, but does have some rust pitting on it. The knob is ok. I have rebushed the shifter assembly with MB parts. The lower boot is there but in medium condition. There is a new upper shifter boot, new rod bushings, all from MB Classic Parts. The upper plastic housing was purchased NOS from an MB dealership after a long search, as it was not available from Classic Parts. There is a small pile of screws that hold the cover plates to the trans tunnel on the body. There is the metal cover plate, shifter mounting plate, gasket for that (good used, NOS is not available), and a template for cutting the hole in the trans tunnel. There is also the correct heater ducting piece from the heater blower box to the rear outlets. I do have (not pictured) the original carpeting piece, but it is in poor condition. Would be good for a template. I also have the rear crossmember for the rear trans mount. I would like to keep all of the above pieces together, as this pretty much makes up a "kit" that could be a straightforward install conversion. Asking price for the above is $450 plus shipping. In addition, I do have a resurfaced flywheel, pedal cluster, and the bracket that the steering column goes through on the floor (I was not sure if that particular piece was different for a floor shift, so I took it off the parts donor car). I also have a second transmission with the 3 shift rods and shifter. No other parts like knob, mounting, ducts, etc. Prices on these, if purchased with the above "kit" can be negotiated. I don't want to sell them separately at this time. I can build a crate to ship these parts. For $40 I can deliver to the following cities (or in between): Atlanta, Charlotte, Knoxville, Tri-Cities TN, Winston-Salem, Columbia SC, possibly Raleigh. I can also deliver (at no additional cost) to the Deutsche Classic on July 12 In Reading PA, or anywhere along I-81 between Johnson City TN and Allentown PA the same weekend. If interested, please send a PM through the site. Thanks Jon Last edited by WNC123; 07-04-2014 at 08:41 PM. |

Any chance this shifter kit is still available?
