WTB: 15" wheels for W201

WTB the 15" rims similar to those used on R107 and W126, with 15 holes and a center cap.

Have heard that W201 cars can only use the version with ET of 25mm and that the W126 are ET 49.

Would like confirmation if anyone knows and source of the right 15" rims for my car.

If you have other 15" rims that fit, am also interested pls PM.
Thanks!

Do you have any other rims that fit a W201 that you might be willing to swap for? I have the 15 hole 15" on mine right now but I am open to other options.

Early 190s had 14 inch wheels with an offset that was compatible with the 25mm offset used on the W126, W123, and R107.

Late 85, and by 86, 15 inch wheels were standard. These looked just like the early W124 wheel, except that the 190 wheel was only 6 inches wide, versus the 300E had 6.5 inch wheels. W124 wheels will fit the 190 chassis, certainly the 86 and up, and I suspect they'll also work on the 14 inch cars. The factory 15 inch 190 wheel was offset in the in high 40s, similar to the W124.

Frank,
Thanks for the info, so what does that mean?

I can use 124 wheels? 126 wheels? and what about the bolts?

What is the attraction with going to bigger rims and smaller tires? I've never understood the attraction, so I'm genuinely curious.

I intend also to go to slightly larger tires also, so that I reduce the engine speed at higher speeds, since this is easier than finding and changing a diff.

I want to be able to go 70 and not have to run the engine at 4000 rpm

larger tires can get the revs down.

strelnik, if you have the money to spend you should be able to order a set of brand new original wheels (with the proper offset) from your local MB dealer. Nice wheels improve the appearance of any automobile. Recommend changing the differential if you want to reduce engine RPM at a given speed in high gear because your automobile's suspension is designed to use a certain profile tire. A higher profile tire will likely affect suspension performance, handling and safety (possibly).

I have a set of 210-401-03-02 wheels that were specified for a 201 chassis at least that's what the seller informed me. They are 6.5J 15H2 with an ET37, the W201 used offset from 35-45, depending on the individual model, big brakes on some of the 16V engines etc. I had to take a pic tonight, can get better one tomorrow in daylight.
These were take offs at a very low mileage, have no curb rash and only a few ticks in the rim where weights were affixed, these are really in great condition and a hard size to find. PM me if interested

OK, I found the p/n of the wheels I think you are looking for.
I have a set on my '79 300TD. I call them flat face wheels. they are p/n 201-401-11-02
If you look at eBay item 160810195394 you can get them for about $60 each as a set of 5 for $300
right? DDH

I have a 15-hole chrome wheel with 205/60/15 tire. Pulled from the spare compartment of a W124 so it's probably never touched the road. Just a bit oxidized from sitting in the shed for a long time but chrome is in decent shape. Just the one wheel unfortunately, but I only want $35 + shipping because it's taking up space.
