Lightbulb WTB engine for 190e 2.6 in Northern California

I need an engine for my 1992 190e 2.6! I ran my engine out of oil and ruined the crankshaft, rod bearings etc. it didn't run very long on no oil but long enough to mess things up.
I would prefer something that has lower miles and in decent condition would rather not have to rebuild it. I'm looking to pay around $500 +/- I will have the money in 6 weeks and would like to find an engine and make arrangements in the meantime. I have a trailer and can pick the engine up I'm willing to travel

Why not also consider getting any one of the many W124 300E M103 engines out there. You'll get a little more umph out of the change. You couldn't pick up a 300E parts car for less than the price of a dedicated 2.6 engine.

not sure were in CA you are located but here are three possible engines:

Mercedes 300E Engine and Transmission

1991 mercedes 190e 2.3 engine

1988 Mercedes Benz 300TE Wagon 103 Engine

I actually have a 300e sitting in my driveway with a bad transmission. I assume that because of the larger engine size it wouldn't pass smog
