I pulled the engine from my wife's '87 300D after she was broadsided in 2013. I was looking for a wagon to put it in but bought a '95 E320 instead so the engine is excess to me needs now and something I would like to find a buyer for. No other parts are available since the car went to the crusher.
Mileage was 166K when installed in 2011 and when I acquired it I replaced the alternator, installed new lifters, timing chain and tensioner and glow plugs.
We put less than 6000 miles on it since then.
The AC compressor is mounted and working.
This engine runs/ran perfect, it started easily with no unusual noises and the turbo pulls strong with no loss of oil.
It has a #14 head, but has absolutely no problems and the car was never overheated (my other '87 still running has a #14 head and still strong with nearly 300K on it).
I can't give a warranty but assure the buyer this engine was in good running order when removed from the car, doesn't require anything major. I take great care in keeping my cars in as close to perfect condition as possible.
I am asking $1800 and if wanted, the buyer gets the almost new cherry picker/engine hoist attached to it.
