WTB W123 master cyl to vacuum brake "O" ring

Anyone have a spare 0049 973 245 "O" ring for sale. It must be the correct one. Atlanta Benz has it for $3.50 and $21.00 shipping. I would go $8.00 for one $12.00 for two sent in an envelope regular mail. Remember, safety first, has to be exactly the right one.

I'd counter that it has to be the "exact one". This is a static seal that only seals vacuum , an American "Dash" series o ring would be fine. Pull the MC, take it to a good auto parts and try them for fit.

Nope, it must be the exact one. We found an "O" ring, exactly the right size - no good. still leaks. The reason is that it is not really an "0" ring but a "sealing ring". On a cross section view, it is not circular but a rectangle, I suspect very difficult to find except for the stealer.

OK, I bought a supply of them. $10.00 each shipped. If you have brake fluid leaking down the front of the vacuum brake unit, or if you car is not holding vacuum, this is probably your problem. If not corrected it will ruin the vacuum brake unit.

There are so many things wrong here. .

If you want a square cut ring ask for one don't ask for an " O ring " Square cut / lathe cut rings can be had from a multitude of sources.

Calling the dealer a disparaging name doesn't help your cause.

If you have brake fluid leaking from the back of the MC / front of the booster, you have a bad master cylinder that needs replaced. Any brake fluid leaking from the MC piston will , in the long term damage the brake booster diaphragm. In severe cases, brake fluid will make it's way into the vacuum system.

FYI I just bought one of these from my local Mercedes dealership for less than three dollars and I didn't have to pay shipping.

The Ate master cylinder I ordered from a certain Arizona-based online parts retailer also came with one.
