WTB: W123 Palomino Hat Shelf

Looking for an intact hat shelf (deck behind the rear seat) in Palomino. Apparently my rear wind screen was leaking and ruined mine. Shipping would be to 63108. Thanks in advance!

Amy -you should post that the needed hat shelf is for a sedan and the year. The coupe is different and the style of carpet in the hat shelf changed over the years.

Thanks Bill for the reminder! Car is a 1983 240D sedan, with palomino interior.
Cheers!

Your best bet is to bite the bullet and order new carpet (feintuft velour) and new padding. The only thing which could be salvaged is the cardboard-like under piece but they normally crack. The carpet after 30+ years in the sun is totally beat and the padding may be slightly tougher than a chip and dust ... If you are going through the headache, might as well do a R&R which will last a lifetime and look new ...

I redid mine with marine vinyl that is close to palomino and new padding almost 10 years ago. It's holding up great and I find it easier to dust off instead of the velour.

Check with the "Reinvent the Wheel" folks at Classic Mercedes Restoration Parts. They might have something.
