This rescue '98 E320 won't pass smog because the aftermarket driver side catalytic converters don't have CARB markings. I'm looking for an OE/OE looking driver side catalytic converter set in one piece since it's the welds that caught the eye of the technician. For reference, this site sells MB remanufactured cats for $260 shipped net but no assurance MB will refund the $250(?) core charge for my aftermarket cats :/

I doubt that any reman cat retains a used shell, they likely just reuse the pipes. In any event, there will be a description as to what an acceptable core is somewhere out there.

i have a 99 that looks ok but shipping it to Ca from Pa might be a killer
