Introduction and WTB Becker Europa
Hi. New to this forum and helping my son out on his first classic car purchase. We just picked up a really pretty tidy W114 250 but there will still be lots to do ...
I'll be helping him generally with the maintenance and picking up the bits that need attention but I wanted to surprise him by sourcing an original radio. I believe the Becker Europa was original fitment and I'd be interested in either a mono or better still a Europa II. In the meanwhile quick pic of the car (with original receipt and reference pics of the radio I'm looking for. Look forward to contributing further as the project progresses. Hopefully take some better pics of the car next weekend. |

Hi Jabstick. I've had a good look on ebay and looking at completed listings it seems that decent working units can be had for $200 - $250 but my experience on the Porsche 944 forums (which is where my knowledge base lies) has been that the forums are a friendlier and more reliable place to buy. I've had a couple of helpful bits of advice by PM and also found an old peachparts listing that is looking hopeful, so the forums look like they are coming up trumps.
thanks again for your help and look forward to getting to know you all better as the W114 project progresses. I have plenty to learn! |

You might just call Becker. Think they are in NJ. Pretty nice guys when I dealt with them about ten years ago.

I've had a chat with them and they were very helpful but $695 for a refurbished unit is out of budget for me. Need to take a chance on an unrefurbished one really.
