For Sale or I should say taking serious offers.
I have a 1984 M117 5.0 L engine out of a true Euro500 SL. I got it from a Saint of a Man in Austin Tx. He restored a 380 SL for his father-in-law. In the process a guy he knew had his 500SL bashed while parked on the street. So he bought the engine & transmission. He was told & told me the engine had almost 40,000 miles on it. I was sceptical, but upon inspection it looks like the truth. I of course can't be 100 % sure, but the oil is golden honey. The timing chain is tight & pristine. The cams hardly look worn @ all. I bought a snake camera & the cylinders barely have any wear. You can tell by the photos that the exhaust manifolds are True Mercedes "Tri-Y"'s & for a lefthand drive 107 chassis. These alone are quite rare & valuable. As the saying goes "Life has gotten in the way". I have alot invested in this engine;time,favors,sweat,blood,luck, & yes tears.
That's from having to consider selling "My Priced Possession". Please don't insult me with lowball offers. If you know what this is & have a need for it. Then make me an offer. I will be putting it on other forums & if no one buys it. E-bay.
