Question Spark Plug Wires

Anyone know where I can get some Spark Plug Wires for a 1987 190e 2.3-16. Mercedes charges $236! Any aftermarket wires? Thanks.

Original MB wires are solid copper, which is why they are so expensive (and good).

Aftermarket wires are a silicone / copper blend which doesn't last nearly as long, but is much cheaper.

I've spoken to techs who've seen original wires still being used on 68-72 280 SEL 4.5's.

FWIW, it seems that its not the wires that usually go bad, but the resistor ends, or boots. These are very cheap to replace, too.

I'll second the resistor tips idea. I had an intermittent miss. Took the car in, bad plug wires. Had them replaced for $280 (only owned the car for a couple of weeks, had no clue about what I as doing). I finally found a great MB mechanic and they informed me that they could have fixed it for $7 by replacing the bad wire end. Uggg! Live and learn.
