WANTED: 1983–84 Mercedes-Benz window sticker

Hey everyone—longtime reader, first-time writer. I have a 1984 300SD that I'm trying to replicate the original window sticker of, and I'm hoping you can help me out. I have all the service records for it since new, and the window sticker is the only thing I'm missing. I'd love to be able to display a replica on my car at meets and car shows.

From my research, Mercedes-Benz window stickers looked the same for 1983 and 1984 models. As long as I'm able to find one for any model between those years, I'll be able to change all the text as needed in Photoshop.

Does anyone have an extra lying around that they'd be willing to part with? Let me know and we can talk price.

Alternatively, if you have one but you don't want to part with it, I'd be willing to pay you for a high-resolution (600 dpi) scan of the whole thing.

Thanks!

I frown upon copying or altering such an item. I will get up on my soapbox and suggest other members don't participate in helping with such a matter as it alters the past records of a car and having "fake" original window stickers around cheapens the value of cars that actually DO have original window stickers/decals/service records.

I also don't think the effort of trying to duplicate the original window sticker will be worthwhile nor will it be the single thing that will make or break a sale. Lots of cars are great cars are bought/sold without any service records, but the last thing we need in the classic mercedes world is people trying to "fake" these records.

You seem to imply that I'm just trying to increase the value of my car for a quick sale, when this isn't at all the case. This is my longterm personal car that I've had for three (almost four) years and counting, with no plans on selling anytime soon.

Even if I were to lie to a potential buyer sometime in the distant future about the authenticity of such a replica (which is an assumption you seem to be making about my character), they could easily search my username on the internet (which I use for all my accounts) and find this post.

Also, imagine the sheer amount of trouble I'd have to go through to painstakingly research, source, and replicate such a document for such a specific and narrow year range, for such a common car (a 300SD). Not at all worth it for financial gain, as you said.

I'm simply trying to add a cherry on top of my own car for my own personal satisfaction. I'm not trying to fake anything, and I'm not trying to con anyone.

You are more than welcome to refuse to help me, but your PSA to other members to follow suit based on a gross assumption is out of line.

You probably don’t need to photoshop. Look on Hemmings. Used to have vendors which did this (for US cars). And this was years ago before the world of photoshop, et cet. Look up Monroney Sticker.

Try ebay. I got a few for my W124's. Wanted original "Daimler Benz" not "Mercedes Benz" as was currently on one of the cars. Shop around, prices vary widely.

I'm pretty sure he said he just wants this for car meets and etc. might be cool to photoshop the text in a little area of it that would say your name (like change the salesperson or owner of the dealership to your name) or just something that Implies it's replica that can only be noticed if you look hard for it.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I’ve actually tried a few of those avenues already to no avail. Mercedes-Benz themselves used to reissue Monroney labels, but stopped doing that long ago (same with the Classic Center in Irvine). As far as vendors that make replicas, I did find one—but their pricing is quite high for the same service I would be able to do myself. That’s why I’m on the lookout for a real window sticker.
