I am "restoring" a '87 190E 2.3 for my daughter's first driver.

I need to find front and rear shocks.

I thought maybe someone had some they took off while working on a project and would sell at a reasonable price.

Of course, ideally Bilstein HDs.

Seen some KYB's for sale on a website for $200 a set. I am trying to locate the URL again.

Front $140 a pr
Rear $60 a pair

there are also some OEM shocks on ebay.

Hey, Haasman. I have a set of Front Bilstein HD (V36-0362) which I used only for a month before I switched to SPs. I will include the new still-in-the-bag hardware.

I also have a sightly used set of original rear Boge's (201 320 0331) and original rear springs 201 324 2504. These are used but still in perfect condition.

Haasman:

I just finished replacing the springs (x4) and shocks (x2 fronts) on my 1986 190E 2.3-16V last weekend. I believe they'll fit a 1987 190E 8V no problem. I also believe they have a lot of life left in them -- springs for sure since I don't think they "age". I also have brand new bump pads as well (1-bump rears; 2 and 3-bump fronts). Also, I think the 16V stock suspension (read: shocks/springs) are more sport than a standard 8Ver's, so these would give your car a "performance upgrade".

I live in Campbell, so we could meet in front of, say Los Gatos Ferrari so you can check out the springs/shocks. Not sure what they're worth -- readers? Too bad I JUST sent the rental coil spring compressor back TODAY ($85.50 rental + shipping)

I still had another 1-1/2 weeks on the clock.

This weekend (Sunday afternoon) would be possible.

I want to lower my car some more and wanted to know what is the stock pads for 1993 190E 2.6. Also, what are the lowering effect if I do change it to something shorter.

Wow, it's almost been a year and still no shocks huh? Time sure does fly. I guess I should talk -- still haven't installed the 500E swaybar I purchased from Alain V. about a year ago.

Anyways, I still have the shocks/springs mentioned in the earlier post. Let me know if you want to get together to check them out.

One source you can call for fitment is ******** Los Gatos -- talk to Al or Tony. They know my car; just tell 'em Brian with the anthracite 16V AMG.
