WTB: Burl wood shift gate and surround
I have a 92 500E and the center console wood is cracked. I would like to replace it. I have also seen pictures (can't recall where) of a burled wood shift insert as well.

Check here for your shift gate. They offer several different ones for the various models:

Try www.heritagewoodworks.com (828)321-3523 FAX. (888)255-3523 Ask for Drew. They can refinish your wood cheaper than at the dealer.
They have advertised in The Star Magazine forever, and have done the work on concours winning cars.

The wood isn't cracked just the varnish. Its from too much hot/cold cycling, get it refinished or the wood won't match your dash.

Why not just buy a new burl wood shifter panel from direct from Mercedes? They're about $200 from Rusty or Fast Lane. Beats dinking around with refinishing your old one. The refinishing is good for old cars where MB doesn't sell the wood any more, or cars where the wood costs a small fortune (i.e., double or more the cost of refinishing).
Good luck, |

let drew fix it!
Why pay 200+ when you can have Drew refinish it for probably half of that? I have had two different cars redone by him and the wood work looks like BRAND NEW!
