Way back in March, I sent an $80 postal money order to ROBMAI for a used W116 seat bottom and cruise actuator. ROBMAI had frequently posted parts for sale in this forum, and I had purchased from him in the past with minimal problems.

About a month later, I received an apology note from ROBMAI for taking so long to send the parts, and an offer of some freebies if there were any other parts I needed. I responded that I needed a pair of fog lamps, but would be happy to pay a fair price for them. ROBMAI told me the lamps would be sent at no charge, and, again, apologized for his delay.

I waited, and waited, and waited; the parts haven't arrived to this day (07/09/03). Not only have I failed to receive the parts, but I cannot get ROBMAI to answer any of my many e-mails asking about the status.

On 06/05/03, I did get an e-mail, purportedly from ROBMAI's son, explaining that his dad had a knee injury, and had been unable to fulfill the order. Son mentioned that he had found a box with a seat part, a big metal thing, and some lights in it, and asked if those were my parts. He promised to ship the parts as quickly as possible or to refund the money. I responded that,indeed, that sounded like the parts I had ordered, that I needed the parts more than I needed the eighty bucks, and to please mail them to me right away.

That was the last I heard from the son, and have sent numerous e-mails regarding this serious problem. No response -- total silence from ROBMAI and his son.

I know there is nothing anyone here can do to help with this situation, and I am out eighty bucks, partly from my own stupidity, and partly from being too trusting of a total stranger. This is just a word of caution to other buyers in this forum: do not buy from ROBMAI at any price. A good deal is only a good deal if both parties hold up their end of the bargain. This man is not capable of human decency. I hope no other members have been taken advantage of by this seller.

From now on, its PayPal payments, or I'll simply pass on the "bargains".

That stinks! I have made many flawless transactions with Mshop members over the years. In fact, I just made three transactions today! Tere are still many fair people on Mercedesshop. Better luck next time!
