I have an extra 1992 500E engine (long block). Something went wrong with it -- it developed a banging noise that rose and fell in frequency with the engine rpms. A scope check revealed some bad gouging in some of the cylinder walls. Not sure exactly what happened, because never took it apart -- just replaced it and stored it.

Obviously, the cylinder heads and other parts are still perfect and hopefully of great use to someone. My plan is to part out what is good, but I have yet to get around to it. The block has around 50K miles on it. Let me know if interested.
