FS R4 Compressor 3-1/2 Years Young. No Leaks.
On a previous post, I outlined my frustration with the installation of my 3-1/2 yo R4 compressor from my wrecked 300D.
Turns out the pulley was slightly bent in the accident. I didn't want to install the compressor with a bent pulley (vibration, wear etc). It was only off a 1/32". I attempted to find a replacement pulley at Napa, Autozone and the local Chevy dealer. I have the compressor part number and the AC Delco book didn't list it. If we guessed on the compressor, it would have taken a week to get from Detroit. One of my big local ac shops didn't have a fitment for it either as a used item. So I just ordered a new R4 from ackits. We tested this compressor after the pulley was removed. No leaks. If someone needs a good "lightweight" R4 with the stepped ports and no leaks, let me know. You'll need to use your late model R4 pulley and clutch. BTW the original 1984 pulley and clutch can't be used, different fitment. Delphi Model 1134381. Let me know if you are interested in this good compressor.
