Wtb: Must Have 17" E430 Rims

Hey all! I am looking for a set of the stock 17" 5 hole e430 wheels for my 300e. The wheels need to be in good shape, tires, no tires I dont much care, but I will pay more for a set with good tires obviously. Please e-mail me at s6cndmbz@hotmail.com if you have a set you want to sell. See the pic to figure out what I'm talkin about. Don't make me swap my 16" 5 holes with my neighbors 17's and see if she notices.....hehe

My brother has a set of flawless chrome ones just like that. He had them on his 1987 300D turbo for a while. He's been on 95 E320 wheels "stockies" for a while now.

They are 17x7 1/2 ET 37 chrome, not tires though.

Email or call me, you know the number.

Hey Man...I'm not really down with chrome...too heavy (i'm already adding weight going to 17"s) and it looks too bling versus sporty. I'm looking for these or maybe some Aero 1's to suit it and keep away from the cliche aero II. Thanks tho.

Yeah, my brother felt they were too bling as well.

Aero Is wont fit your car correctly.

Nah man, Aero I's will fit, it just means a little ingenuity....by which I mean some serious fender rolling and the AMG fender spacer kit or the like to extend the front fenders. I am holding one of the original AMG brochures right now, says Aero I is available for the w124 in 17x8 with a 28mm offset. Ah well, I'm doing nearly 1500 worth of mods on a car I promised myself a month ago I would stop spending cash on, I don't need to spend another $800 on Aero I's instead of e430's.
Peace
Scott

Also, they did a lot more than that. Those wheels are made to fit a W126, W123, and R107 cars, but not W124 cars. To get them to fit properly on a 300E, AMG had to roll the fenders, space the fenders out, and slighly flare the fenders as well. Also they physically moved over the slots where the lower control arm bolts to the front chassis inward about 5mm per side.

I have put these early amg wheels on a regular 124, but it can't be lowered too far, otherwise they will rub like crazy.

E430s fit pretty well though. 235mm width is a little wide in the front though. I think 225/45/17 would be better on those 7.5 inch wide wheels.

What else are you doing to your car?

Post a picture of your car in the thread, I want to get an idea of what rims would look good on your car. Have you ever seen E430 wheels with black chome? That looks really good on darker cars to minimize the bling factor.

Hey man, as to other stuff for the car, I bought the later door panels from a 95 e320 and am putting in Alcantara center inserts. This is kinda to match the custom suede rear shelf I built with ports for my sub. The panels also have the speaker cutouts, so I'm putting in 5.25" Infinity components with the tweeters in the pillars. I'm also working with my dad to reveneer the center console and door panel wood with birds eye maple. This stuff is ordered already. The other stuff includes a 3.27 rear diff I was/am about to buy, an AMG new old stock rear ducktail and some misc little projects.
My priorities may have changed, however, I was tinkering today pulled the cap off the coolant resivoir and found three nice little round drops of oil floating on top this after it got pretty hot when the Aux Fan failed last week. Headgasket, not to mention getting it remachined and a valve job. Gah...terrible. The dealer around here wants $2,300, I'm gonna try to pull it myself and take it to the machinist for a total of $600.
And yeah, Aero I's are a ***** to put on, I didn't realize they moved the control arms tho. Black chrome would be sexy...i've never seen that done.

Cool, so you just want 17s to match your 16s that you already have on there.

I don't think that I would like chrome on your car, but on a black, white or red car I think chrome usually looks pretty good.

Yeah...I think the 5 hole style suits the 124 chassis best. I love the 16's and just refinished em, but they're not quite large enough for my taste. I want 17's for the handling (esp with new firmer sidewall tires) and I love the look. I got a guy that may sell me his, we'll see what happens. Meanwhile I'm lookin for some performance mod I can do to justify pulling the cylinder head....
Peace
Scott

Put in lower compression pistons so you can put a turbo on it.

Or.

My friend can do an M104 EFI swap for you, then you dont have to deal with the cylinder head, but that costs money like usual.
