WTB: Ignition tumbler w/key
I'm looking for an ignition tumbler and key for an '83 300D. Actually from what I can tell its pretty much the same tumbler in just about any '80's MB.

If you buy it from the dealer, the tumbler and key come as one. You have to give them your VIN and proof of ownership to get those made.

If you want it matched to your car sure. I don't feel like given $115 to my local dealer.

Is your tumbler jamming up on you? That happend on my '83 about 2 years ago, I went down the same road.... What I did was that I dissassambled the tumbler and removed the pins (really brass rectangles) that were jamming. Now my key works and as a side trick, I can remove the key from the ign. while it is running. That is very handy when I need to run into a store... I can lock the door and keep the AC running....

Its not jammed up. But it will not allow me to get past the glow plug energize stage. Can't actually start the car.
