Steering Wheel Airbag Cover '93 300E
I have a 1993 300E 2.8 with black MB Tex interior.
The steering wheel/horn/airbag cover is cracked and I'd like to know how I can get a replacement part. None of the specilaty part web sites have this item listed. Is there is a replacement part number for this item? Is this safe to drive with? Peter |

The steering wheel/horn/airbag cover is part of the airbag and they don't make a replacement, you have to buy an whole airbag to get it. If the airbag light works as it should then it's safe. Although I do remember years ago they were saying that airbags must be replaced every 10 years but I think they have let up on this suggestion since then.

Atikovi - thanks for the reply. As I found out at my local MB dealer, the part you described costs $1100.00. I think I'll have to learn to live with the crack - hardly noticable though since it conforms to the circular recesses of the MB logo.
The SRS light goes out after the self-test at start-up so I suspect the system is safe. |

I'd try a Mercedes Benz recycling yard. I'm sure they'd have one.
There is a place in Maryland called Potomac. Try the search function. The contact info has been posted before.
