Hi Luke and other CLK experts...
Will 265/35 fit on 18x9" monoblock IIs with no rubbing on a 1999 CLK430? what is the exact weight of the 18x9" monoblock II as compared to the 17x8.5" monoblock II? same for the 18x8 as compared to the 17x7.5" Are the monoblocks considered heavy? thanks!!! |

You should be able to fit 265/35-18 with an 18 x 9.5" (26mm offset)rim in the rears and either 225 or 235/40-18 with an 18 x 8.5" (35mm offset) rim in the front.
If you didn't want a staggered setup, then you could get the fronts stated above for all of the corners. Personally, I enjoy the staggered setup when powering through the turns. According to Mercedes, I believe you will need to roll the rear fender lips. I hope this helps. Eric

Do to the fact 18" wheels are designed for higher performance the weight difference between 17" and 18" is nominal.
The 225/40-18 and 255/35-18 is the proper staggered set up for the CLK 430 and will work without and modifications needed. The 265 you mentioned will be very tight and might rub when cornering hard. Thanks, Luke

Eric...
How do you like those Solaris H7 bulbs? Are they any good? J |

The H-7's are pretty good although I heard that there are many more manufacturer that make a "truer" HID bulb.
I would probably buy them again. It shines whiter with a tint of blue. It's not overly done or obviously faux.
