Well I was driving to a client today and when I pulled up, my tire was fine, I came out after an hour and it was completely deflated.

Put air in it, took it to the tire store, and they discovered a 2 inch long slit in the tire. Seems like there must have been some road debris that slashed the center of the tire.

And since the tire had deflated on the way to the tire store partially, the sidewall got screwed, so I ended up having to buy a new tire to replace the bad one.

Kind of sucks that it happened, but they gave me a good deal on the new tire, considering I purchased the tires a few months ago and had only done a few thousand miles on them.

I just wish it had been the front tire and not one of the newer back tires. Then I would have put two new ones on the front.

I couldn't believe that it happened, I guess its time to go buy some lugs for the spare.

Oh Well, Cest La Vie.

Alon

Maybe, some ass*&^% punks slashed it. Once when I drove into the city I came back to discover my tire slashed. REplaced it and was on the road a few minutes later.

I love Long Island. Hate the City !

It was weird, After I refilled it with air, I sat by the tire listening for leaks and could hear NONE. I moved the car allowing each area of the tire to be exposed and still no air leak noise at all.

I had thought somehow the thing just up and deflated or something.

But upon inspection at the tire shop it had a jagged gash in between the treads, like a piece of sheet metal or something had pierced it.

Probably some debris on the road caused it.

I miss the tire store I had the gave Road hazard warranties....too bad they went out of business... maybe thats why...

I would like to see the run flat tires, the ones that can run on no air. Like the ones on the commercial.

And the ones that James Bond was driving and where the tyres deflated and inflated again (the car chase in the car-parking complex)?

ps. while on the subject of tyres, my dear uncle has written something on tyres that may be of interests to some:
