I've got an '88 560 SEC currently sporting AMG 16" wheels. Need new tires and am thinking of going w/17 or 18" wheels/tires instead. Is this possible without modifying body of car? Current profile will rub if car fully loaded and I hit a driveway too hard. My other option would be to use the current 16" Aero. Any thoughts on best tire? Car has AMG suspension/tran/dif/engine mods.

18x8 or 8.5 with a 245/40-18 fits a W126 coupe without any rubbing issues if the wheel has the proper offset

Sorry to bring this old post back from the dead, but what offsets are acceptable on a 89 560 SEC? Just purchased one yesterday and need to do some serious wheel shopping! Thanks.

If I remember correctly you need an offset of between ET11 and ET25
