I want to put on some 16 inch alloy's with 205.50.16 tires which I believe to be the right combination (the car is lowered). The questions are will the tires rub on the inner wings ??....I have heard stories that they will, although the suppliers of the wheels I've spoken to say they will be fine. Also whats the offset ? I have have been told ET35 by some MB dealers and ET37 by others ?? suppliers tell me its ET35....your help would be much appreciated.

A 2mm difference shouldn't matter that muchh on the wheels, what will matter is how low the car has been dropped. If it is more then an 1.5 inches, then you might have rubbing unless you have some good shocks/struts made to compensate.
205/5016 should be fine on a 16x7.5 wheels. Anything wider would also cause you some problems. |

To double check I've tried a set of wheels off a friends car and they rub the inner wings, not the tyre wall but it looks like the top edge, also it looks like it catches the wheel arch as well, no paint and very shiny just at the top of the rim. I'm lowered a bit more by the looks of it than the car they came off. So if I want this size wheel it looks like I'll have to raise the suspension a bit. Agreed ?
Its only happening when braking hard or going through a dip in the road or over a large bump. Mal. |
