Lorinser rims - fitment question

Just purchased a set of rims. One of the possible applications is for my 1991 560SEC. They are 17 x 8 Lorinser D93's. The ET figure on the back of the rim is ET44. They were sold to me with 22mm hubcentric spacers, looks like the spacers are made by ATF or ATE. Ostensibly, they just came off a 126 series 560SEC.

Tires are Continental Conti, sized 245/45 - 17. I am pretty sure the tires are of marginal quality, and will be replaced.

Question - Will these rims work on the SEC ?

If so, what is the optimum (or maximum) tire size I can use ? I would not want to go less than 45 series, as I would not like the ride, nor the aesthetics. Any any suggestions for brand/model of tires ?

Thank you for any suggestions or counsel.

well if ride is what you are searching for i would stay away from the 45 and maybe leave it at 50 iknow how people are there gonna say its only this much with there finger measurements but only this and only that they dont have to drive the car everyday you do.

Personally I would not want to use wheels that need spacers.

You new wheels and spacers will work just fine on your car. Make sure your bolts are long enough for full engagement. 245/45-17 is the biggest that will fit. Personnally I would go with 235/45-17. The 245/45 is too tall and acceleration will suffer.

If ride is important go with 4 seasons type tires. I use AVS Sport on mine in 245/45-16 on 8" wheels with ET20. The ride is good but is a little noisier than stock.
