Bad news for ML55 owners. I cannot find 285/50/18 tires anywhere nowadays.

I can get them over on this side of the water - but that doesn't help you much!

I get the feeling from other sites 18 inch wheels have fallen out of favour. Now 17 inch or 19 inch options are all over the shop...

Well, it's good to know they are still made.

I like the fact that you have a decibel rating on tires. Wish that was available here.

I think it is one of those things that the EU introduced. It is a useful guide for new tyres but I imagine it isn't something that holds true when worn.

Often the tyre selling sites have a part number for the tyre shown somewhere in their description - if you can find the same part number where you are I guess the specifications would be the same. We're getting more and more global...

Not looking good here. My options are a higher profile 18" and loose some tread width.

There goes the AMG factor.

Well I assume the AMG factor would be on 19 inch rims at least! Problem is the lower tyre wall height will make the ride less comfortable...

...there must be a good set of used 19 inch ML wheels and tyres going begging => Perhaps it is time for a WTB ad?

Pirelli Scorpion Zeros are available in 285/55/18. Your eyes will not notice a difference between a 50 and 55 tires on something as wide as a 285 and as big as an 18.

There is a sight tiresize.com where you can plug in your size and it will show you compatible sizes with Diameter, Circumference, width, sidewall height, and Revs per mile to keep your speedo accurate. in checking your size, says no tires available. in switching to 19" it shows 235/55/r19 to be equal. this is a good reference source to play with different combinations. Also good place to determine how far off your speedo will be if you change sizes. Good luck!
