Hello everyone!

I know that many people on this forum like the Michelin-made tires. I've read that Pirelli is also recommended. How about other brand?
In the past, I've purchased Falken tires. I thought the pattern looked good, warranty was excellent (50K), and the price is great ( 215/60/HR15 is $60/tire, and 205/55/HR16 is $95). Michelin Pilots are $90 and $110 respectfully. Is it really worth the extra money?
In regards to rims, I will purchase ATP Type 8 rims - copies of 8 whole Mercedes wheels. However, I have not decided if I will go with 15x7" or 16x7.5". Living in Northern California where the freeways are far away from being acceptable, I am concerned about ride quality. Will 16" wheel deteriorate the ride significantly?

Thank you in advance for the help
Alex

I would get the 15" x 7J with one of a few tires (all Michelin - they just work well on Benz's)

1- Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus (mediocre performance, beautiful ride, good wear)
2- Michelin Pilot SX-GT (awesome performance, good in rain)
3- Michelin Pilot XGT H4 (mix of above two, best buy of the bunch)

#1 and #3 will last between 30k-40k miles. #2 will last 25k miles.

Size wise, I think 205/60/15 works best. Email me if you want to talk more. Look forward to hearing from you.

Daniel

Give me a call and I will be happy to help you with your tire selection. The reason I don't want to randomly give you a recommendation is because there are to many variables and withou knowing them it does make it kind of hard to get you the correct tire.
Thanks, Luke
