Question 1992 W124 factory option 662 5 spk sprt wheels?

I got the VMI printout on my 1992 400E yesterday and it looks like my car lost its correct wheels somewhere along the way. The VMI indicates option code 662 sport wheels 5 spoke. The car has the usual 8 hole 15 inch wheels on it. Can someone let me know what the optional wheels looked like and were they 16"? were the 5 spokes AMG wheels? I was planning on getting some 16" wheels in the summer and I figure I should see what the car was originally delivered with.

My guess is when the car was traded in someone swapped the wheels (Carfax indicates only 2 owners before me).

Thanks
Paul

Another explanation, my W201 was originally destined as a special delivery for a dealer in Massachusetts, but the Mercedes dealer in NJ was able to "divert" it. Before delivery, the dealer removed the orthopedic seats that were in it and replaced it with the standard driver's seat. The orthopedic seat shows up on the window sticker, but on the bill of sale, there's a credit for the swap. So, it could be that the dealer did the change out for a customer or on their own.

Good point. There is no way to tell what happened.

Still the open question of what the 5 spoke sport wheels look like (and are they 16"?)

Paul,

I may be interested in your 15 inch, 8 hole wheels if they are in good condition and will fit my SDL and the price is right.

Thanks for the offer Alan but I plan on keeping the 15's for winter tires (plus I wont get the 16's for a few months).

No problem. I am just looking for as inexpensive option to upgrade my wheels. My 15 hole originals are peeling and fading.
