Rear wheel bearing noise
I have been living with the whir whir whir noise of a bad rear wheel bearing for a few months now until I get the time and money to replace....here is the question....Am I endangering further problems by waiting? Or will it just get worse until I replace it...what happens when it goes out??
Thanks!! Brooke |

if it goes completely out it can cause damage to other components but, the more disconcerting thing is that it will leave you stranded if it fails or worse yet a failure at speed can cause a loss of control

From what I've gotten from the mechanics, the longer a bad rear wheel bearing is driven on, the harder it is to remove. Frequently the blue wrench needs to come out. It may cost you more in the long run. If the mechanic runs into difficulty you may need a new hub flange in addition to the bearing.
